Property description
Walking or driving up this road, it is clear to see it is one of only a few roads in East Grinstead that boast character properties in the historic and picturesque old part of town. A lovely lounge with a large window allows the afternoon sun to flood in, (currently used as a bedroom). The fireplace has been capped, but could easily be an open fire or maybe a wood burner again.
The dining area has become a cosy second sitting room, perfect for a teenage retreat/playroom, which leads out into the large conservatory which currently houses the dining table and as it opens in to the kitchen this is a great entertaining space: meaning you won’t get the sense of being locked away if you’re hosting friends or relatives alike. The kitchen has ample storage a work surfaces and offers enough space for any budding chefs to cook up a storm. Bedroom one with massive built in storage has a large window giving a feeling of light and space. The second bedroom, housed in the loft conversion, is also a double and the third is more than adequate too. The spacious bathroom completes the upstairs billing. A large downstairs shower room makes the morning rush more bearable. Outside and it’s time to marvel at the secluded rear garden with large workshop/home office with power and lighting, ideal for home workers or for additional storage. East Court, Chequer Mead and the leisure centre can all be reached without the need to cross more than one road. The town is within easy reach and the mainline station is not far beyond.
What the Owner says:
I was drawn to the character of the house, the high ceilings the lovely stripped wooden doors, the original sash windows and the feature fireplace. It’s a fantastic location only a few minutes’ walk to the town centre and a few more to the station. I have loved the convenience of living here so much that I am only moving across the road, downsizing to a new apartment. My parking permit for the road allows me to park anywhere in the town centre (Zone A) and near the station all day which has proved incredibly useful. When I am out sitting in south facing garden I sometimes forget I am in the centre of town as it is just so peaceful and quiet. There’s a real sense of community in the street amongst the residents and I am grateful not to be leaving the neighbours behind.
