Property description

A true " Chocolate Box" thatched cottage dating from the 1600's but sympathetically extended in the 1980s but unusually for a property of this age not listed.

Local amenities, fantastic road and rail links and schooling are all on your doorstep and all only a short walk away. With farmland to the side and rear, leisurely sunny days can be spent in the garden soaking up the sun with views towards Westbourne village and its church spire in the distance.

The lounge and kitchen both open up onto the same part of the garden so summer entertaining is easy.

As Winter draws in the cosy nature of the cottage provides a quirky sitting room to return to and cuddle up in front of your favourite tv program.

With the main bedroom, lounge, dining room, sitting room and kitchen diner all on the ground floor it is highly adaptive and it is completed by two original bedrooms upstairs.

It is the area as much as the cottage which will be the draw as miles of country lanes stretch out in all directions. The Southdowns National Park and Chichester Yacht basin are easily accessible on foot, horseback or by cycle. Leave the car at home and jump on the train to Portsmouth and Chichester for the festival theatre cinema or shopping experience are not far away.

If you are looking for a true "get away from it all" home but one that isn't too far from it all either then this could be the ticket.

What the Owner says:

I loved this cottage as soon as I saw it. It's cosy quirkiness and convenience seemed ideal.
I'm well over 6ft tall and don't feel confined by the height of the rooms as unusually they are quite tall for a cottage.
I walk to the station to get to work and we do the same for an evening out. It was owned by a pub landlord before us and felt like it.
We have done a lot to it since moving in including adding a new kitchen and making it lighter throughout as well as replacing a large part of the thatch last year.
It is so quiet here you could be in the middle of nowhere yet everything we need is on our doorstep including great neighbours that we will miss.
We hope that the next owner will enjoy it as we have.
