Property description
If you are looking for a quiet country cottage in a pretty Hampshire hamlet within the stunning Southdowns National Park, that offers all of the modern comforts yet a wealth of character and charm such as open fires, exposed beams and brickwork and a history dating back to 1647 then look no further.
Passing traffic is likely to be horse hooves and a farm tractor and with far reaching views towards the Isle of Wight and the Solent you feel that you are in the back of beyond.
It is however only a five minute drive to Morrisons and a leisurely stroll to the centre of Horndean Village with a choice of pubs and local shops.
The A3M is a few minutes by car and gives access to London via the Hindhead tunnel, making this an ideal get away from it all ‘commuter’ or ‘escape to the country’ home.
On your free days jump on a bike, horseback or pull on the wellies to explore the miles of pretty bridle paths and cycle routes that crisscross the area and then perhaps stopping at one of the local pubs en-route.
Butser Hill and Stanstead House are within striking distance and when you get home your cozy cottage will be a welcoming sight.
Relax in either the front or rear cottage gardens in the summer or snuggle up to a roaring fire or log burner in the winter.
Double glazed, centrally heated and not listed this is a rustic beamed gem of a cottage that you will not wish to miss.
What the Owner says:
Coming home to this cottage is like returning to your favourite comfortable armchair.
It is cozy and yet combines old with modern so that we get the best of both worlds. It's supremely quiet and relaxed yet very convenient with everything you need only a few minutes away.
Since moving here we have done a lot to the cottage to make it an easy home to live in but taking care to keep the character of the home.
We watch the seasons change in a warm and inviting home with great friendly neighbours who enjoy the quiet lifestyle as we do.
We absolutely love this cottage but our family are not local and we want to be closer to the grandchildren.
