Property description

Get ready to experience quintessential Kentish village living in the small, tucked away village of Shottenden, located near to Challock and between the City of Canterbury and town of Ashford in Kent. Countryside living is what this period cottage is all about, with April Cottage being one of a row of 4 homes to the rear of the original village post office. Accessed via a footpath running down from the main street through the village, the start of which is marked by a red telephone box, it bisects the front of the property and the neat front garden. A little further down the path and the cottage’s garage is accessed, ensuring the car or other items of value are securely stored away. Ashford town centre is just a 15 minute drive away, as is its International Railway Station with High Speed 1 taking just 39 minutes to arrive at London St Pancras Station. Stratford and Ebbsfleet Stations are encountered prior to this for commuters requiring access. The village is located centrally between the M20 and also the M2, a fantastic central location for access to so many of the main locations around this area. Downsizers, first time buyers, investors and those with connections to the village will all love to buy here. Don’t be the one to miss out!

What the Owner says:

I was really lucky to be able to view on the day this cottage came onto the market way back, about 10 years ago. There was so much interest on viewing day, as they do not become available here very often. The wood burning stove in the lounge really gives the feel of countryside village life and brings the cottage to life when I light it. I will be sorry to leave it behind but life goes on! I just hope whoever buys it loves it as much as I do – I have a feeling I know they will!
