Property description

This charming and beautifully presented, grade II listed and partly thatched cottage is found in a delightful terrace of cottages set back from the road at Goonbell.

In recent years this much-loved Cornish cottage has been sympathetically restored throughout and is now packed full of period detail which really needs to be viewed to be appreciated.

The ground floor accommodation offers a cosy living room with inglenook fireplace housing a log burner. Open access through to a small but well-designed kitchen which maximise the space on offer, with the main focal point being the Cornish range. The bathroom is also found on the ground floor and is fitted with white sanitary ware.

The first floor consists of two bedrooms both with exposed floor boards and panelled ceilings adding to the character. Both bedrooms are also surprisingly spacious for a property of this size.

The property is set back from the road and accessed via a communal pathway leading alongside the terrace, with the garden being located a short distance away at the end of this walkway. The secluded garden has been superbly landscaped and maintained being screened on all sides by mature hedging, with well stocked flowerbeds and a summerhouse providing the perfect sheltered spot to relax and enjoy the afternoon and early evening sun. On the opposite side of the terrace the cottage also has its own off road parking and an 9" X 6" storage shed.

A great deal of care and attention has been taken to retain as much of the property’s original charm and character. For instance, the internal doors are all brace and ledger, the stonework in the inglenook is on show, the beams throughout the ground floor have been exposed as well as the floorboards upstairs and several of the windows are sash. The bespoke "cottage style" kitchen is fitted with solid wood worktops with concealed storage areas.

The property is currently used as a second home and part-time holiday let when not in use.

LOCATION Goonbell is situated on the southern side of the St Agnes, just under a mile from the village centre and approximately 1 ½ miles (20/25 minutes’ walk) from the beach at Trevaunance cove.

St Agnes is a picturesque village situated on the spectacular north coast of Cornwall, in both an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. The village is rich in history and has a thriving community all year round with a comprehensive range of independent shops and local businesses, many breathtaking walks along the beautiful unspoilt coastal pathways and scenic countryside walks that are so distinctive to the area.

St Agnes is fast becoming one of the most sought after destinations in mid Cornwall to live, own a second home or holiday due to its facilities and excellent communication links throughout Cornwall with the A30 just three miles away.
