Property description

If you fancy village life and countryside living, this house could be for you. Situated in the popular and sought after village of Westcott you can take advantage of a thriving village community yet you are only a short drive from the centre of Dorking or delightful stroll along the cycle path.

If you enjoy walking or have a dog then this house is just minutes away from walks that can take you to Ranmore, Denbies or beyond. If cycling is your thing then you will be spoilt here, with either on road through country lanes or off road in the Surrey Hills.

Once inside, the lounge is cosy and just the place to relax in front of the television and if the evenings turn chilly, light the open fire and bask in its warmth. The dining room is a good size and perfect if you have friends over for dinner as you can cook on the Rayburn and have a catch up. You can also be in the kitchen area next door preparing the food and still be close enough to join in the conversation.

If your guests want to stay the night, they can do so with ease thanks to the choice of two large bedrooms with lovely views and stripped wooden floors. The re-modelled and stylish downstairs bathroom is just the environment for that well earned soak when you need it too.

Outside, the pretty rear garden has plenty of room for the kids to tire themselves out on the lawn and in those warmer months you can soak up the sun or enjoy al-fresco dining.

What the Owner says:

We moved here 19 years ago as we completely fell in love with the location. The village lifestyle is fabulous and the amenities that go with it are excellent. On our doorstep we have the bakers, post office, village shop, pub, wine bar and Indian restaurant so have an array of things to enjoy at our fingertips. The house dates back to 1874 and we were drawn to the charm and character inside and although we have done a great deal of work, we could see instantly how to make this our home. Since living here we have replaced the kitchen and bathroom and had a new boiler installed. We also replaced the felt roof around 8 years ago and installed the gas fired Rayburn which is superb for cooking. It's been an amazing home and we will miss the area dearly.
