Property description

This could be one of the most perfect thatched cottages you will find, exposed beams are the order of the day, they are beautiful, look closer and you may very well see one of the owners carved ornamental mice peaking out of the beam work.

The home successfully blends character accommodation with a contemporary twist, it is a home that you can just walk into and put your feet up on the day of completion or soak your aching bones in the luxury bathroom having moved all your furniture in.

The living room is a fantastic size, great for watching the latest block buster on a large TV, come the winter you will really appreciate the wood burner and the subtle smell of seasonal wood. The dining room is effectively the mirror image with doors onto the garden, great for entertaining friends and family and has a secret staircase and bread oven.

You will probably spend a good deal of your time in the cottage style gardens, they are generous and extremely well stocked, the current owners have really worked hard and have brought the gardens to life, they are a perfect sun trap and a on a clear day you can see the Isle of Wight ferries in the distance coming onto port.

Historically, character and thatched can mean no parking, not so here, we have a drive and additional parking to the other side of the front gardens, so plenty of room for everyone.

What the Owner says:

The minute we saw the cottage we fell in love with it, it was so quaint and we loved the feel of it, it was also advertised in a magazine for being one of the most beautiful homes!

The bedrooms are great sizes, but we also found the cupboard in what we use as the master bedroom is a fantastic size, someone could make an en suite if they wanted to. The cottage was originally two cottages, hence there are still the 2 front doors. The cottage is so quiet and is only a short walk to the nature reserve and the beach as well as the farm shop. There is a bus stop just outside that comes every 15 minutes which is great to get into the centre of town!.
