Property description
Finish your property search with this charming two bedder. It sits in a lofty position sprawling the top two floors of a tall Victorian conversion. Every room is generous in proportion and the converted loft reception room is a wonderful addition. The setting is a tree lined residential street, close to Brixton village, transport and amenities. Lambert Road itself has no through traffic so is incredibly peaceful.
You enter into a well kept communal hall and head up to the first floor. You'll find the flat's entrance to your left and carpeted inner stairs lead directly up to the main flat. The hallway is lit by a large south facing window and the neutral colour theme really helps to enhance the feeling of space and light. First on your right is a smart kitchen, fitted with cream units and a handy breakfast bar to eat your porridge swiftly. Next door is a bathroom, generous in size, with a white suite and shower attachment. Stairs sit in the centre of the flat, separating the two bedrooms at the front from the back of the house. Both bedrooms are a great size and have tall sash windows. The master has a lovely exposed brick feature wall and plenty of space for a new bedroom suite. Take the stairs up to the loft conversion where you'll find an incredibly cosy reception. Three Velux windows light up the space perfectly and you are not overlooked. Peaceful, private and with a fantastic view of the Brixton Windmill - what more could you want?
The 137 is just around the corner and will whisk you to Sloane Square and Knightsbridge. Clapham North tube is about 12 minute walk for the Northern line or you've got the Victoria line in Brixton. You're within a pleasant amble of Abbeville Village for a slightly more laid back village vibe. Acre Lane has some handy shops and a fab Algerian restaurant, Khamsa - we recommend it highly! The Grand Union does ace cocktails and burgers (we've been known to frequent their super cool beer garden). Brixton's all a buzz of late - it's a proper social hub. The Ritzy cinema overlooks the recently re-developed Windrush Square offering a marvellous place to sit, chat and drink coffee. This is before we mention the ocean of funky bars, cafés and restaurants on offer - we love Fujiyama for some noodles and vino. Brixton's covered market supplies a seemingly endless list of world cuisine - you can dine on everything from Columbian to Vietnamese. Honest Burger is to die for - those rosemary chips are having a disastrous effect on the waistbands of Brixtonites! The White Horse really rocks out on the weekend and you've got a fab restaurant attached the Brockwell Lido. Keeping fit is no problem with Brockwell Park and Clapham Common.
