BRIDGE HOUSE, MOFFATS DRIVE, SOUTH HORRINGTON, WELLS, BA5 3LA

About the area
Wells is the smallest city in England (population about 11,000) lying in beautiful countryside between the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The major towns of the area being Bristol, Bath, Taunton and Yeovil are all within commuting distance. Castle Cary is the nearest train station with fast links to London. Wells has local markets twice a week and many medieval buildings including the Cathedral and moated Bishop's Palace. There is a busy local shopping centre, a broad range of societies and activities and excellent state and independent schools in the area including a number primary schools, Wells Blue School, Wells Cathedral School and Millfield.

Accommodation
This Grade II Listed Victorian building was designed by Sir Gilbert Scott, the architect who designed the London Foreign Office, Albert Memorial and St Pancras Station. Originally a hospital it was re-developed about twenty years ago. It stands in a commanding position with its own mature grounds and cricket ground just north of Wells golf course and in easy reach of the centre of Wells. The development of this building and surrounding grounds comprises South Horrington - a popular residential area on the Bath Road side of Wells. It provides a range of houses and apartments of considerable interest and character which benefit from the large communal gardens, parking, superb views, and a peaceful environment well away from any busy roads.

*
Bridge House is part of a particularly interesting and beautiful part of South Horrington where two bridges cross the access lane. Today these bridges are part of independent houses and part of one of the bridges is the dining room of Bridge House. Many period details are retained including stone mullioned windows and leaded lights and these are complemented by bas central heating with radiators

Ground Floor
A door leads into the entrance hall where there is the staircase, a large deep closet (with a radiator) and a utility storage cupboard with plenty of shelving. To the left is the dual aspect principal bedroom which is a good size. Past the staircase is the bathroom with a hand basin with tiled splashback and vanity light, the wc and a bath with separate shower above, shower screen and tiled surround. Adjacent is the utility room with shelving and a washing machine/dryer.

First Floor
The stairwell is very light with a triple stone mullioned window and leads to the landing. Off the landing is the second bedroom. At the other end of the landing a door opens into the sitting room which has a high ceiling and a triple aspect with lancet style stone windows. A stone archway opens into the \"bridge\" dining area which has triple stone mullioned windows on each side and great views. Also from the sitting room a door opens into the kitchen which has a good range of fitted units with work surfaces, one and a half bowl sink unit, tiled splashbacks, a 4 ring gas hob, electric oven and a gas fired wall mounted boiler.

Outside
Outside is a reserved parking space, visitor parking and of course the delightful communal grounds.
