Eltham is a district of south London, located in the London Borough of Greenwich. It is situated 8.6 miles (13.8 km) east south-east of Charing Cross. The centre of Eltham is situated on a plateau, high enough to offer unrestricted views across South London. Eltham Hill offers the steepest descent from the plateau to sea-level, starting at Eltham High Street.
