Location
Llanystumdwy is a village and community on the Llyn Peninsula of Gwynedd, although it is not regarded as being part of Llyn, but belonging instead to the local region of Eifionydd. The village has a population of 2,080 (2011 census) and is located at the point where the A497 between Criccieth to the east, and Pwllheli to the west, crosses the Afon Dwyfor. David Lloyd George, the former British Prime Minister, lived in the village until he was 16. The village is popular for tourists, ramblers and fisherman (the nearby Afon Dwyfor is famous for it's sea trout) and is set in a picturesque location close to the wonderful Cardigan Bay coastline and within a short drive of the historic castle town of Criccieth (approx 2 miles).
Directions
From Pwllheli, proceed east on the A497 passing 'Haven Holiday Park' and continue straight across Afonwen roundabout. Proceed passed the left turning to Chwilog and take the next left turning signposted Llanystumdwy. Turn immediately left and the turning into the Penrallt Estate is located after a short distance on the left hand side. Number 1 is the first property on the right.
