Toll House is situated on the outskirts of the village of Exebridge which lies on the border between Devon and Somerset. The name Exebridge comes from the bridge over the River Exe, which is just a short distance along the road, beside the village pub, The Anchor Inn, which also serves food.

Toll House is approximately 2.5 miles from Dulverton, which is known as the Southern Gateway to Exmoor; it\‘s a centre for walking, riding and fishing, and is well served by several good restaurants, pubs and antique shops as well as an excellent range of local shops including small supermarket, butcher, greengrocer, baker, delicatessen and fish & chip shop.

In the other direction it\‘s approximately 3 miles from Toll House to the historic town of Bampton, which is is a small town but has a surprising range of local amenities including pubs, restaurants, tea rooms, late-opening supermarket, post office, butcher, greengrocer, chemist, and a range of other shops. Bampton has quite a history from the Romans to its early Saxon origins, the Norman castle, the wool and pony trade, the 12th century church, the quarrying of the local stone; now it is a thriving centre used by locals and visitors alike. This small and vibrant town is located in mid-Devon; nearby Exmoor National Park, Wimbleball Lake and the Grand Western Canal Country Park provide wonderful opportunities walks, cycle rides and activities.
