Property description

When pulling onto the gravel drive there is more than enough room to park several cars off the road. You are immediately greeted with the stunning unique property that was built approximately 4 years ago and set back from a country lane. Typically from the front it looks like a barn conversion. The detached garage provides even more space which you can use as storage and there is also a utility room.

Inside the cottage it is fully modernised to a high standard with high beam ceilings, open plan living and kitchen area with lovely solid oak framed windows overlooking the views to the rear. In the summer months the barn double doors can be left wide open to bring the outside seating space into the living area.

With two bedrooms as well as an en-suite bathroom and separate shower room you will certainly have enough space for when guests come to stay.

Shottenden is a quintessential English village within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offering stunning walks into the rambling countryside. This village is also ideally located for Canterbury as well as Ashford where there are high speed rail links into the City of London.

If you are looking for a quieter pace of life and a charming and picturesque setting, then this property is certainly the property for you!

What the Owner says:

When we purchased Wheelwrights we actually lived next door. The site was derelict for over 20 years following the closure of the old Wheelwrights shop and builders yard. It was important to us to tidy the site up and bring the old buildings back to life in sympathy with their original style. The working of wood had been associated with Wheelwrights for many decades and its renovated structure and heating system maintains those traditions. The biomass log boiler, solar PV and solar water heating systems, underfloor heating, rainwater recycling system and double glazing bring it into the 21st Century. We have moved to the Welsh Borders but have very good memories of living in this lovely, light and comfortable cottage for 6 months before we moved.
