Property description
This home is literally fit for a Queen, occupied and originally designed for Queen Adelaide, wife of William the fourth back in the 1800’s. There is a real feel of charm and warmth from the moment you step into the large communal entrance hall which is flooded with light from the stained glass windows in the ceiling, where the original chandeliers are hung. The charm oozes from the original tiled floor that you glide across to the front door of the apartment giving you ‘’the wow factor’’ before you have even stepped over the threshold. Once through the front door you are automatically drawn to the large doors that run across the whole of the lounge/kitchen area, with the most wonderful sea views. You can step out onto the terrace and sit and watch the boats go by while enjoying the sound of birds singing. In the winter enjoy your hot drink and watch the white horses rise out in the bay and enjoy listening to the crashing of the breaking waves on the beach front. You could literally hear a pin drop in this location! If there is the occasional time that you draw yourself away from the view and fancy cosying up on the sofa to watch a movie then the original shutters will help darken the room in readiness. There is a stunning fitted kitchen area with ample space for those budding chefs amongst you and this room was formally part of the drawing room so gives you a real contemporary feel. This home really is truly magnificent and a viewing is a must!
What the Owner says:
Imagine 200 years ago with Royalty here and the ladies with their wide Crinoline dresses coming down the wide sweeping staircase and out onto the lawns!
Divine living!! From breakfast in the full sun on the veranda to a glass of wine in the evening watching the ocean liners go by. I love the way the sun streams into the french windows from sunrise until about 5 in the evening! As soon as I am able to keep the three french windows to the drawing room open all day, I know that summer is here. This has been a very happy apartment to live in. It is quiet and peaceful with no road noise. The apartment is big and spacious with plenty of storage space. I am very sorry to be leaving it but I am going back to the mainland to be near to my daughter.
