Bulford is a small, rural village which has direct access out onto Salisbury Plains, and sits on the junction between the River Avon and the Nine Mile River. The local pub, the Rose and Crown, serves traditional pub food and has an enclosed beer garden for children and dogs. The village itself has a small local shop, primary schools, village hall and a recreation ground, including a basketball court, tennis court and a football pitch. Nearby Durrington has three express supermarkets, doctors, vets and a secondary school. It also has a leisure centre with a swimming pool and gym.
