This is what our landlord (who lived in the property) says about the apartment:
What I love about the flat?
The flat has a lovely light and airy feel because of the high ceilings and contemporary decor whilst retaining the charm of original features. It has bags of storage, very unusual in a one bedroomed flat which means you can live in uncluttered spaces while having easy access to your belongings! The bathroom is a good size with natural light from a large window so there is no noisy extractor fan to disturb you or the neighbours. Although high ceilinged the flat is warm and cosy and very heat efficient, it warms up very quickly and I have found it cheap to heat. The bedroom is also a good size and the Juliet balcony overlooks the gardens with a full length door which is lovely on a summer evening.
As the flat is at the back of the building it is astonishingly quiet for central London, you are more likely to be woken by birdsong than any traffic noise. The building was refurbished inside and out last year and has a very smart exterior, always nice to come home to. The neighbours are predominantly owner/occupiers so they really care about the building, they are friendly and approachable and can often be found in the local pub. I'll miss those nights!!
What I Love about the area?
The beautiful architecture, the Regents canal close by for a stroll up to Camden Lock on a Sunday morning, the mix of eateries .want Persian food, take a ten minute walk to the Harrow Road, want to dine with Paul Weller, wander round the corner to the Red Pepper in Formosa Street (the best pizza in Town), want to see a movie wander 10 minutes up past the Warrington pub (worth dropping in for a drink and if you're into celeb gastro pub dining. Gordon Ramsey's restaurant is upstairs, but I prefer to stay downstairs and people watch, usually a bunch of musicians who have just finished a gig at the Maida Vale Studios) where they have just opened a Screen on the Green. Portobello is a walk away and on a summer evening a wander to Regents Park or Paddington Recreation Ground is very relaxing.
What's Great about transport?
The Bakerloo line is one of the most reliable and Warwick Avenue tube is a ten minute walk away (from leaving the flat to sitting at my desk in Hanover Sq takes exactly 25 minutes), you always get a seat before the crowds get on at Paddington. Paddington is also close by as is Maida Vale tube. The number 6 and 414 buses run from around the corner in Shirland Road and a walk into Oxford Circus takes about 45 minutes along the canal and then through the park. There are also Boris bikes available at Warwick Avenue.
Our landlord loved this apartment for so many reasons and we are confident you will too!
