Before our mother moved here we decided to make a very strict list of things that we wouldn’t compromise on. Things that were important to mum and us as a family. It must be warden assisted but essentially they were there only if needed, but let you get on with your life independently if required. You must be able to come and go as you please. It must be level and next to the town for ease of access to shops and transport. It must be well kept, well managed and very importantly, feel like home.
Downsizing isn’t easy to do but because ‘Magnolia court’ is such a special development we found it to be a pleasant experience. Our mum is now living in a care home but really enjoyed her time here.
