Property description
Traditional stone cottage in popular area
A traditional stone-built cottage located in the popular fishing harbour of Newlyn. Newlyn is an active sea-port village in Paul parish. The village stands on Mounts Bay, under Paul Hill, three-quarters-of-a mile south-west of Penzance railway station and consists chiefly of one street nearly half-a-mile long, with several deflecting alleyways. Extensive fishing continues from the port with about 300 boats. Newlyn is home to art galleries exhibiting some fine art, as well as being home to the renowned annual Newlyn Fish Festival. Those interested in community activities will be interested to visit the Centre of Newlyn which offers such activities as badminton, circle dance and line dancing, to name just a few and is close to the seafront with its Victorian Promenade stretching from Newlyn Green to the renowned Art Deco Jubilee Pool which is perfect for a leisurely stroll.
Newlyn has a health centre, primary school and a good range of shops, restaurants and character pubs. The coastal footpath links to Penzance and Mousehole and with many lovely beaches in proximity, this is a great location for all ages. The famed Newlyn School has its legacy in the numerous galleries and working artists to be found locally and the remaining fishing fleet adds further character and a poignant reminder of the townâs heritage.
The accommodation includes a fitted kitchen and lounge on the ground floor. On the first floor can be found one double bedroom and a shower room.
