Property description

Set within an imposing building which dates from 1910, this ground floor apartment offers a unique opportunity to buy a village home with a share of the freehold and a long lease.

With character features including a pretty fireplace, high ceilings and original wood flooring, the property easily blends contemporary style with period charm and has clearly been well maintained by the house-proud current owner and is freshly redecorated.

Accessed via a secure intercom system, the communal hallway feels homely and welcoming. Only two other flats share this area and the owner tells us he will really miss his lovely neighbours.

There is a surprising amount of storage throughout the flat and an allocated parking space plus visitor parking to the rear of the building. The communal garden is carefully maintained and provides a lovely outside space.

With shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs and restaurants all close at hand, it is no surprise that flats in the village are popular with first time buyers, downsizers and buy-to-let investors alike. The mainline railway station is a little over half a mile away, making London and Gatwick commutes quick and easy.

It is to be noted that the vendor of this property is a person connected with Cubitt & West, as defined in the Estate Agents Act 1979.

What the Owner says:

Having rented in the village for a number of years, I decided to buy a property nearly three years ago and knew that this was the apartment for me as soon as I walked through the front door.

The sense of space really appealed to me, the large double-glazed bay window to the front gives a light, airy feel. As the kitchen opens from the living/dining area, it's a great space to entertain in. The whole property is really quiet and relaxing.

Wonderful walks and views are available almost from the doorstep and with no ground rent to pay, plus a very reasonable monthly service charge (currently £75 per month) I've found my home really economical to run.

Room sizes:

  • Living/Dining Area: 14'4 x 13'5 (4.37m x 4.09m)
  • Kitchen Area: 11'5 x 11'4 (3.48m x 3.46m)
  • Bedroom 1: 11'3 x 9'1 (3.43m x 2.77m)
  • Inner Hall
  • Bathroom
  • Allocated Parking
