Property description
This could be your once in a lifetime opportunity to own a stunning and unique historic home, right in the heart of beautiful Littlebourne. There’s so much to say about this home, that it really is difficult to know where to start! There’s the external appearance to begin with – it really is a true delight with its thatched roof.
On entering the house, it’s apparent that it is absolutely busting with character. There are beamed ceilings, Inglenook fireplaces in both the lounge and the dining room and lots, lots more! You can just imagine warming yourself in front of the fire on a cold winters night or Sunday dinner enjoyed around the dining table with all the family. If you enjoy being outside you will absolutely fall in love with the garden here. It’s a beautiful cottage style garden and is so idyllic in that the river runs along the rear of the garden. Imagine what it would be like to sit out here on a lovely sunny day listening to the sounds of the river run by. You could spend hours feeding and watching the ducks. Imagine how relaxed you would feel going back to work on a Monday morning! This cottage also has the benefit of having a garage plus a driveway for 1-2 cars. This really is an asset to have with this kind of home, as so many period properties have no parking. We really must urge you to come and view this home internally, with the beautiful garden and to see all the uniqueness and character that is has to offer.
What the Owner says:
It was my dream come true to buy this house. I wanted a thatched cottage by the river and I just knew as soon as I walked in that I was going to live here. My wife and I still absolutely love being here, but the time has come for us to move close to our family in Bedfordshire. The thing I will miss the most is sitting by the river on a lovely sunny day and watching all the ducks and ducklings go by. We will also miss living in the lovely village of Littlebourne. There is such a strong community here and we have got to know many people in the village through the church and the coffee mornings that go on. There’s always plenty to get involved in, in the village. It’s a great place for the young, old and families alike.
