Broxburn (Scottish Gaelic: Srath Bhroc) is a town in West Lothian, Scotland placed 12 miles (19 km) west of Edinburgh on the A8 street. It is arranged more or less 5 miles (8.0 km) from Edinburgh Airport, and to the north of Livingston. As a suburbanite town serving the M8 passage into Edinburgh and the mechanical zones of Livingston, Broxburn has seen a late increment in movement, particularly from Poland.The town that later got to be Broxburn presumably started around 1350 when Margery le Cheyne acquired the eastern 50% of the Barony of Strathbrock (Easter Strathbrock) on the passing of her dad, Sir Reginald le Cheyne III. The village that grew up around her living arrangement was then called Eastertoun (eastern town) after the arrive on which it stood.
