Property description

Set in the heart of historical Sutton Valence is this gorgeous weather-boarded cottage, brimming with original character features. Set high on the hillside, with views stretching across the Weald, this is a hidden gem full of surprises. Step through the front door into your very own piece of history, with its impressive open fire, striking beams and quirky layout. With such flexible living space, you are spoilt for choice with where to entertain your visitors: will you choose the cosy kitchen/breakfast room overlooking the secret garden, or how about the impressive lounge/dining room with open fire? For a more intimate gathering, the sitting room provides the ideal space, but if the weather is being kind, then the beautiful garden, containing an array of shrubs and flowers, becomes a private room in itself! The neutral decor that flows throughout, allows a creative mind to explore all possibilities, but still enables those less creative to move in without fuss. The huge master bedroom with en-suite bathroom makes bed time a pleasure. Two further double bedrooms and bathroom allow your family to grow if necessary, and the handy study can become a single bedroom if guests insist on staying a while longer. For those who like to tinker, the garage is super handy to store all those items that may come in use one day. To top it off, you have two pubs to choose from locally, for those evenings when you just don't feel like cooking - bliss.

What the Owner says:

The cottage has been in our family now for over 40 years, and has created so many treasured memories as we have watched our family grow. Of all the houses we viewed, we knew this was the one, as we saw the huge potential it had to offer. Everyone who visits marvels at every turn, as there is always something new to catch your eye. Guests are often surprised and delighted when we show them the secret attic room/play room - the only problem was getting the children to come down for tea when they were little, as they loved the space so much.
We are so lucky to have already begun our next venture meaning we can sell the cottage chain free. We truly hope the next family will love it for as long as we have.
